Who we are
Empower Recreational Therapy is incorporated in Marietta, Georgia. We are committed to improving the accessibility of recreational therapy to adults aged 50+ throughout North Atlanta and surrounding communities. In keeping with our philosophy of personal care, we are able to work with you in the comfort of your own home.
EmpoweRT is built upon 6 values that drive our mission for the community.
Client and family involvement is an intentional collaboration with the therapist to identify client's needs and preferences, and to create a more meaningful, therapeutic experience.
We also value inter-professional collaborations within clinical and community settings, to share knowledge, resources, and truly bridge the gap for a successful continuum of care.
Our comprehensive understanding of the whole person inspires us to expand our role with advocacy efforts. We take pride advocating for the overall health and well-being of our clients, accessibility of services, and inclusion of our clients in surrounding community programs. We are also committed to advocating for the provision, quality, and reach of the RT profession at both the state and national level.
Our authentic approach cultivates a genuine rapport, trust, and true bond between client and therapist. This therapeutic relationship is essential for successful client outcomes.
We value the depth of truly knowing our clients beyond surface level by engaging them in real conversations with a therapist who listens, cares, and laughs with you.
Our top priority is the health and safety of our clients, which is carefully managed and led by our Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS).
In addition to professional credentialing, we value experience, education, and competence to ensure quality outcomes. We continually strive for the pursuit of operational excellence and strategic growth.
Our clients are often overwhelmed by what they feel they can't do anymore. Recreational therapy focuses on what clients can do by harnessing their strengths and abilities through successful participation in challenging, meaningful activities.
Our creativity and innovation set us apart. We embrace creative problem solving to healthcare and aging challenges with enthusiasm and optimism. Our vision statement captures our commitment to pioneer the inclusion of adults 50 and over into non-traditional programming and all recreational venues.
Our model serves the needs of adults aged 50+ in all settings to serve as a viable continuum care service and to support aging in place efforts throughout the community.
Recreational Therapy and Fitness & Exercise Science are the conceptual foundations driving theory- and evidence-based interventions to optimize quality of life and related health outcomes.
